I believe in…
Enjoying Martial Arts for whatever reason. Some take part for self defence, some for fitness, some for interest in Eastern philosophy and the Orient and some for the camaraderie that the Martial Arts bring.
Everyone enjoys Martial Arts for a different reason. Be happy and enjoy life and your training, it’s all too short. Also, look after your family. Family comes first.
I’m against…
Politics and power in Martial Arts, with some people using the powerful positions that they have over others for negative or selfish reasons.
Where there are people you cannot truly escape politics, but students of Martial Arts should try to keep well away from anything ‘political’ and just enjoy the time that they are spending on their chosen activity.
Ask me about…
Karate – in particular Shotokan, but any questions regarding Martial Arts, training advice, technique, or choosing a club. I'm more than happy to help!
Career highlights

Running with the Olympic Torch Relay in London 2004. Thousands of people were lining the streets and cheering us all on. Now I know just what makes runners enjoy the London Marathon so much.
Publishing my first book – Keinosuke Enoeda, Tiger of Shotokan Karate The book was a tribute to my instructor - the late master Enoeda. It has gone on to sell all around the world in just about every country there is. The book started out as a very personal tribute, but now it belongs to everyone.
Celebrating the 21 years that my karate clubs have been established. The first one started in Chingford, North East London in 1985.
Forming Shotokan Karate England in 2005 with a large group of Black Belts who together wanted to get back to the roots of karate and away from politics.
