I use it to check the time when driving, and will pick it up if it rings but only to tell the person to call me back later.

I never have and i never will understand this stupid law, how on earth do you police it? how do you prove it, ok i know they could check phone records ect. but jesus it's a sledge hammer to crack a nut again i just don't see whats different to smoking in the car or doing any other so called distractive activity, it's another OTT reaction in my book, by the way i don't own a mobile (or if your American Cell Phone) i just think it's yet another total waste of resource's

What do you do if you see someone driving and phoning? Are you supposed to phone the police and dob them in?

yeh, just don't do anythign to distract you, like phone the police while you are driving, or write the car details down, or even look out the window long enough to see the registration.. infact what are you doing looking at other drivers when there is the road in front of you.

There are people probably doing more dangerous things while driving,.. like staring at the speedometer instead of the road when crawling past speed cameras.
