I think it's a risky move. There's no doubt that he will be targetted and this won't only put himself in danger but also the rest of his troop.

Really bad move! He will be a target especialy when the Sunnis and Shiites in Iraq will see that as a UK occupation since he is a royal! Bad Diplomatic moves from the MoD

I think this is inordinately selfish of him, he is putting others at risk. What happens if he is kidnapped? The gov would prob cave in to any demand.
He also makes it look like it is some bizarre british imperial adventure. What a tw@t.
