i dont think i've ever brought a single...why spend £3-4 for one track when the album is only an extra £6? anyway, itunes has taken over the world...+ *whispers bit-torents...
I must admit, it's very rare I'll buy a single these days. the 79p each tracks offered for on iTunes does encourage me a little, but it's still obscenely rare. Think I've purchased around half a dozen in the last 2 or 3 years.
can't remember last time I bought a track or album - was probably a compilation album years ago. Don't like iTunes protection, that puts me off using it. I usually make "back-ups" of other people's CDs ;-0
Apparently it's almost impossible to prosecute someone in the UK for making a "back-up" copy anyways

You can unprotect all the itunes stuff anyway. There's a few tools out there to do it. Playfair/hymn etc

it's still a hassle compared to just having a normal mp3 file rather than their mp4 protected stuff. When I bought a new laptop as well they make it really difficult to get your music from one to the other, still managed it tho ;-)
