Of course Sir Beckham! He's a bloody icon, he scored 'that' free kick that got us to the world cup (which he did on my birthday & made it the best birthday ever!)

I don't think he should get knighthood (or rather anybody that young). Maybe it is just me but I believed that unless it is a HUGE achievement and the work that person had put in for good causes for a long long time.
E.g. the likes of Geldorf, Redgrave, etc. At the end of the day, it is just football.
I don't like it when young famous sportsperson get OBE/#instead here other knighthood types# and release autobiographies -- yes I am talking about Gerrard, Flinthoff, and others.
I feel awards nowadays are being given away too cheaply and would be better on being awarded to doctors, nurses, volunteers, etc. (who have worked in their industry for most of their lifetime).
