Researchers have found that athletes perform better, run faster and have higher energy levels after several weeks of extended sleep. How many hours do you get?
That would mean I would have to go to bed at 1930 though :-(
Very interesting though. I would think atheletes would probably have a hard time trying to get 10 hours a night. I'd say they are up as early as possible to train and neglect sleep a bit.
I really struggle to sleep a lot - average is probably about 4-6 hours a night unless I've had a heavy gym day in which case I might get 6-7. If I even try to power nap I know I'm not getting to sleep that night so I can't do it. I spoke to one of my friends who's a doctor and he recommended 'not sleeping one night a week' to try and improve the sleep I get the rest of the week. It didn't work...
Getting the right amount of sleep can also increase fat loss a whole bunch too. Alot of people don't understand the importance of proper rest when trying to lose the lard.
If you're trying to lose fat and are finding it difficult to shift, that's one of the things worth looking at. Just getting to bed an hour earlier each night could set you on the right track again.
