Yes, I've been addicted to receiving e-mails, but then I realised I don't really know that many people so shouldn't really expect a heaving in-box of exciting e-mail

I can't even use my job bulletins as an excuse, I went through an email addiction phase, buying a bigger mailbox from yahoo as I had the same account for working at home and personal stuff and even now, when I made new accounts to get away from spam, I got a buzz when I had five emails waiting for me yesterday.
To be honest I prefer email to instant messaging because the latter nails you to the chair and stops you getting anything else done in the time that you're typing chat to someone. Text messaging by phone and message boards like this one bridge that gap between the two.
However you soon become aware of the unwritten rules like no proper emails on Fridays, they tend to be virals if anyone communicates at all.

That makes no odds, my company address is with a major telco with all the spam technology we have and they still get through... so known or unknown they're still a pain!
