Not sure why this is in music, but hey... It turns out Cowell makes 36m dollars a year from cutting wannabe pop stars down to size on American Idol. Do you like or loathe him?

No wonder the worlds as fucked up as it is if we're giving talentless wankers that much cash.

Even if I could rattle off the odd snide remark in the same manner. I'd guess all of us here could. So why arnt we getting a slice of that money?

He gets it becasue we live in a market economy where our own sad desires are layed out on a plate for us to consume as long as we are willing to pay... and the fact of the matter is society is willing to pay Mr Cowell £50k a day to be rude to people because in the end we like to see people being rude to other people.

Well you lot do... I don't have a TV!

Amen to that!

I think this is why Gordon Ramsay is coining it in at the moment as well.

I have to admit I enjoy seeing Simon Cowell bursting lots of deluded 'singers' bubbles!

So basically, it's all because the vast majority of society are absolute idiots, who'll happily be spoon fed and old drivel?

Sounds about right really!

While I think he can behave like an ignorant twat sometimes, I think calling him a "talentless wanker" is a bit naive.

The guy's a multi-millionaire and very savvy at making money for his business and stakeholders. It takes talent of some form to make good business decisions time after time.

I also generally agree with his opinions on shows like American Idol, if something's crap he will absolutely tell them whereas the other judges will sometimes gloss over it a bit.

Anyway, think what you want of him, but to call him talentless is just sour grapes or stupidity... your call...

Alright, perhaps 'talentless' is a little too strong a word. He obviously has some form of marketability and buisness sense.

I suppose my main problem is with people who actually see the kind of show he appears on as fantastic TV that we should all be chucking our money at. If I pop to the pub tonight and redicule every single person who decides to have a try at kareoke, the only things that'll be thrown at me are punches.

Oh, and I'll go for stupidity if thats alright? Damn my opinionated hide.

Weirdly - neither do I. So when people talk about satellite/cable etc - alllost on me. But if that means that I miss Simon Cowell, Alan Sugar, Alan Titchmarsh and Carol Vorderman, I'm happy.

I think it is funnt when people find out and think I am the wiredest human alive for having no TV... says more about them than it does me. Do you find the same thing occurs?
