A nine year old boy has been signed by Manchester United after his grandfather sent the Premiership champions a DVD of him on the pitch in Australia. Click to see his silky skills.
wow that kid was amazing! i guess 9 is quite young but it's becoming the norm for big clubs these days. he's obviously going to get some success out of this, and talent scouts generally know what they're doing.
Haven't seen the vid, but just because he is good now, doesn't mean he will be later on in life. He might grow up and hate football, or grow funny shaped legs and no longer has the skill he once had. Signing a 9 year old is surely foolish.
I think he'll do well. Relax. Genius is just a word.
His family are moving back to Cheshire after spending 5 years in Australia. At the age of just 9, Rhain will be joining Man Utd's academy where he will get all the help he'll need.
Sure, if Man Utd had left him in Australia until he was 15 and then taken him on, he might have wasted the next 6 years playing against shite opposition and not developing or learning anything new. But at the age of 9, I think they've caught him when he is young enough. He is talented. Man Utd can take this raw talent, work with it and turn him into a star.
Have you never heard this saying "Genius is 5% inspiration, 95% perspiration."
If you think people become genius's by sitting around doing fuck all, good for you.
How is that Brazilian kid any better? he does the same stuff in the his video. How do we know that he isn't playing against mediocre opponents and running rings round them? Or have we just assumed that because he's playing in Brazil, everybody is Ronaldinho standard?
There are millions of people in Brazil who are shite at football, just like anywhere else in the world. The guys you see representing them at the World Cup on the telly are the top fraction of a percent, not just 'The average standard of any old Brazilian kid knocking a ball about in the favelas.'
