Not a great situation. I can't really understand people like this.

Someone did this to my Mum when I was in my teens, I sorted it out with my fists then, but would be more likely to hold back now.

If you see him do it, then there is no excuse to hold back (at least I wouldn't). You could always park your car around the corner and then walk back so he thinks you are out? Better still if he is on your land.

Still, lets hope the police visit sorts him out first.

This is the situation that I'm waiting for and then there will be no restraint, it'll be fresh in the wife's mind and I'll be there and will go....

Last resort though Noffles, keep calm until then.

if you hit him noffles, and he goes to the police they are going to be round your house pretty sharpish, and when you are down the police station this little prick can harass your wife to his hearts content. As much as you want to smash his face in, it really wouldn't be a good idea.

documenting the abuse is certainly the correct way to go, times, dates. photographs even camcord it!
suggest a stiff letter that your next door neighbour is mentally not well and authorities need to know about this

And take him to the cleaners.... I'm far better with a total lack of control and it just kicks off instantly!

Anyway... to continue, the missus has spoken to the Garda (police in eire) and they have requested she consider this for 24hrs as after she explained everything the have commented that this guy seems to want to get things legal, whcich he has done previously... so we are going to leave it for now and see what happens....

On the back of this though the wife has been looking at houses on the internet and found a lovely place 10k closer to the town that we live outside of and far closer to the nippers school. She mentioned this to me and aas I have said it is her and the nipper that are home most and if this makes them happy it'll make me happy... so a move is on the card...

But before I go........

Ooh, I'm angry with him as well now!

Your wife will be the one bearing the consequences if you follow your instincts and lump him one, as much as it must be tempting. I really hope it can be sorted out sensibly so she can continue to be at home during the day in relative safety. It must be horrible for her, so keep yourself held back then she doesn't have to be worrying about you too!

On the other hand, we had a ridulous argument about a few inches of land with our next door neighbour. It had gone so far and he would not listen to reason, so I resolved to initiate a grown up sensible discussion with him, but ended up calling him a f*****g w*****r and my partner was the one who stayed level headed! We have not acknowledged each other since that day and that was about 5 years ago. It's his loss, we are relatively good and helpful neighbours, as the other side would testify!

Don't let him get you wound up, he is a sad pathetic excuse for a man who gets his kicks out of bothering a female for some reason. Hopefully his wife will sort him out when she finds out what's happening.

Well we'll see how things go from here then... I'll keep my side of the peace but it's all reliant on the other side doing the same..... moving house though smacks of being pushed out but in reality it's more of a nudge as we are really far from the town and isolated in terms of conveniences etc and also moving within walking distance of the nippers school is very tempting... so it's probably for the best!

Thanks for the advice folks, it seems that not lamping him is the way to go.
