Two Questions......

Hello,

Is it true that for losing weight and/or bulking up that any barbs should be consumed early in the day/post gym/lunch and then any remaining meals contain no carbs except veg? I.e. Salmon and Brocolli etc.

Also, if I am using the weight loss plan and going ok but getting too within the specifications to switch to the Six Pack Plan do I have to switch? Can I still work on getting visible abs on the first plan as I dont like the second workout and prefer going how I am?

Thanks

I've never understood this whole idea of "no carbs after 7pm." What difference does it make? As far as I can see, it doesn't really matter when you take in carbs or proteins, it matters how many calories you are taking in OVERALL and how many you are burning through activity and muscle building.

Hi Mate

What Phoenix said is spot on. How many calories you eat overall is far more important, and to add to that, a light carb based meal before bed can help you lose fat, so I wouldn't cut them out too late.

This answer "Will cutting out carbs after 7pm help me lose weight?" will help shed some light. And this recent thread should also give you more info.

In reference to the plan, from what you've said, at the moment the current plan isn't broken, so there's no need to fix it. :)

Keep it up!

Thanks for the response - I thought as much regarding the carbs but then read some fact sheet and gets you wondering again! As it is I do currently keep carbs going throughout the day and focus more on eating 1700 calories than cutting out carbs etc.

In the other thread there is the quote "To put that in perspective, your friends who are probably downing a shake striaght after their workout to replenish energy probably burned around half to two thirds that many calories during their workout."

But presumably on the same basis, this is ok, so long as it is accounted for in any calorie monitoring?

Hi Mate

Yes that's fine. What I was pointing out was that one reason people suggest they should cut carbs before bed is because they don't use energy while their sleeping.

What I was pointing out was that the people in the gym discussing cutting their carbs with StevieG in that thread were probably busy supping down a post workout shake to replace the energy they used in the gym, yet a nights sleep would actually burn probably twice as much calories as their workout, so that argument doesn't hold up.

Does that make sense?
