Just got back from a two day Kung-fun patterns course which was really inspiring and exhausting in advance of my trip to China next month when I'll be training with two kung-fu masters.

I'm just getting more and more interested in this stuff but there seems to be less about it up here on the boards than there used to be.

So, as I finally put my feet up for a bit of relaxation I thought I'd ask what everyone else is up to with their Martial Arts these days.

I dont do the various martial arts that I used to do now due to injuries, age and over work LOL.
I have done Wado Ryu karate, Goju Ryu karate, Aikido, Wing Chun kungfu, Iaido, Ninpo (but not much) and I have just started back now at Tai Chi after many years as its easier on my poor acking bones.

You poor love! Sorry to hear about the injuries though.

Taichi is great though....and no soft option when taken to its full potential. I do it too as well as hard style kungfu and really enjoy it. In the end it is probably more lethal as a martial art if done properly. It's certainly not just tree-hugging like some people claim.

As for age, when I go out to China one of the masters is 64 and the other is 57......so there's no reason to give up martial arts unless your injuries force you.

Good luck with the taichi though.

Thanks for the simpathy vote. Age is not really a big concern I just make it sound that way to get the simpathy vote LOL

Ahhhhhhhhhhh! Poor old thing!

What kind of taichi do you do anyway? I do a Southern Crane version called Suang Yuang which comprises a set of 66 moves which looks very graceful (when done properly!) but is really savage if applied martially.

I do Yang style. I dont know how many moves. I did the medicinal form about 15 years ago for a short while, and have now just 3 weeks ago started under the same instructor but doing a more martial form. In the mean time it has been fast and furious martial arts.
