Have a look in the small ads in your local paper - people often get rid just because they have got the newest model. I've seen a few for flat screen TVs recently while looking for something else
That's a good idea. I had a quick look on E-Bay & there's some bargians around, just a problem with the delivery
I bought a 19 inch LCD one for £270 on Tottenham court road in January. It's AWESOME!
Yes our family have bought 2 Samsungs - a 27" one (now no longer sold in this size) and a 26" one. Both came from Play dot com. Hassle free purchase, quick trackable delivery and a good performing machine.
We looked at Comet, Dixons, Currys, etc, but went to Play dot com and haven't been disappointed.
Mrs54 and myself would one day like a slightly larger screen for the lounge and will look at Samsung and others, probably on Play dot com.
ps - the two LCD tellys have built in Freeview and are HD ready - so all in all quite a nice purchase and not too draining on our family's finances, but slightly above the financial limits quoted above,
What a croc of crap! Just rang Dixons, it takes upto 5 days for the head office to get in touch about arranging the pickup.
This is why I'd like to avoid buying online. I purchased it over a week ago & I'm stuck with it for at least another week. If I'd bought it from a shop I could've taken it back the same day
I spent a good part of the weekend looking around electrical stores checking out LCD TV's. I'd drawn up a shortlist of about 5 TVs I wanted to look at, the main one a Philips TV (£400 from John Lewis inc 5 year warranty) dissapointed me a little so I've ruled it out.
The main one I want now is a Sony Bravia 32", along with the Panosonic & Samsung models it impressed me most. Sainbury's do it for £450 with, I assume, a one year warranty.
Argos sell it for £500 online. Instore it says you get a 3 year warranty on all Sony TV's but no mention of it online, so I'll have a look instore later on
Still nothing from Dixons regarding the pick up :(
Samsung rock! I've got two LCD Samsungs; a 32" (I think) and a 20". They really are fantastic.
I bought the big one from Richer Sounds at the end of 06 cos they do a great service package, and the smaller one from Co-Op Direct Online - which had truly fantastic delivery service.
