So tomorrow evening brings the latest and for a while final full series (there will be sporadic specials) of the newly regenerated Doctor Who, are any of us fans and if so how excited are you at the prospect of David Tennant and Catherine Tate sharing the leads?

God news is that we will see Billie Piper, Freema Agyeman, Elisabeth Sladen and John Barrowman return at some point to shoulder the burden.

from the clips I've seen it looks like they have excellent episodes coming up.

what's astounding is the amount of celebs falling over themselves to be in it.

that's what could ruin it ... a never-ending stream of 'special' guest stars. I still shudder to remember Peter Kay's turn as the Absorbaloff (sp?). Ham acting at it's worst.

Very excited, as we regularly come across the filming in and around Cardiff. A scene from Torchwwod was filmed right outside the front window of where I am sitting at this moment!

I walked past the door to the Torchwood Institute on Tuesday.

cool i hear Torchwood is getting a shorter series next year to allow John Barrowman to pursue other things, pity because the series is going so well.

I don't want to offend anyone here, but, is it me or is Doctor Who just been progressively more gay? It just seems to get camper and camper, as if it's being aimed at gay men in their 20's.

Before anyone says it, I know the writer is gay.

Well I always did, but I saw the christmas special and it was just so camp I nearly necked my dad.

It just seems really gay. Don't know if thats what they want or what.

It's Russell T Davies' agenda to feature his sexuality or Wales or both in almost all his work. In conjunction with that the head producer gets to do what they like on Dr Who, which worked for Phillip Hinchcliffe's era, but then John Nathan Turner came along and his crap casting of the 80s together with Michael Grade's American style of management ("I don't like this prog so I'm giving it the chop and then sticking it up against Corrie") helped to send it down the drain.

Now I just wish they'd let me watch the fucking programme without telling me what's going to happen in every trailer and news article, it's my choice to buy a Radio Times with an episode guide but I'd like to actually enjoy the Xmas special without being told about it in August. I switch the TV off when film trailers come on but with Who, it's just overhype.

The show should also be about more than the guest stars.
