Check this band out - Bloodline
It's a band with a few of my friends in it. The singer is the drummer's Girlfriend... so I think that takes away from the 'Hardcore' element!

If you get one Slayer album, make sure you get Reign in Blood. I don't think anything else they've done comes close.
