LOL fair enough - only trying to make it look like I'm interested inmy partner ;)

Oh and nice pic...

Thanks :)

As long as my form is good and I'm progressing steadily I'm not too worried about my leg exercises at the mo. Upper body is my current plan. Then maybe for the next challenge I will move south!!

That's rest-pause stylee. Stuart McRobert wrote up about it in one of his books, can't rememeber which. I think it's a different style of training to what you do

ETA: He used it as a training "intensifier", meaning to get out extra reps & should be used sparingly

No its not; rest pause is going to failure, then waiting 10-15secs and with the same weight going to failure again. Not pausing before you reach failure.

Surely any sort of rest-pause is rest-pause training, I didn't think you had to nessassarily go to failure before rest-pausing

yeah I spose, but it wouldnt be an intensifier if you didnt go to failure first.

As I understand it, you're training for strength, right? Not hypertrophy. So you probably don't have to follow all these rules.

As far as strength is concerned, getting a few extra reps out with good form will always be better for strength, even if you have to pause for a few seconds. 10 seconds is on the long side but you said this was a maximum so I assume you are not always pausing for 10 seconds.

What's hypertrophy?

Bulking; trying to gain size.

I'll lend her to you if you like.

Pegs, you need to work hard on all parts. Leg exercises produce more testosterone than others because they are your largest muscles - it'll put hair on your chest

No, I'm not trying to do that! I just want to be stronger. Any arm definition that comes with it is welcome too :)

I am working hard on all exercises though! I'm not slacking off on my legs, but they aren't my main focus at the moment.

I don't want a hairy chest.

Re: Peggy's Dirty Dozen challenge - Wed stats update

Here’s my weekly stats update:

Height – 5 foot 6
Weight – 133.4lbs/60.64kg (-0.2lbs)
Upper arm – 11.5 inches (=)
Chest – 34 inches (-0.5)
Above navel – 28 inches (-0.5)
Waist (navel) – 30.5 inches (=)
Thighs – 22 inches (=)
Hips – 38 inches (=)
Calves – 14 inches (=)

So, lost an inch I had gained back so I’m pleased with that. Hawkeyes amongst you will notice I got my weight wrong in my stats last week. I wasn’t 133.2 I was 133.6! I’ve edited it now. Anyway, I’m 133.4lbs now. Want to get back to 131-2lbs and stay there.

Gym tonight! It was a toss up between going tonight or tomorrow night, but I’m out for dinner with friends later and there will probably be wine. I think I’ll have a better workout tonight. Plus I have to vote after work tomorrow and go to the supermarket because I seem to never have time for such things!
