Need to work up to 8 miles by the 25th and have to put in a good performance as I am running the leg against my boss and he is a machine and very competitive. If he beats me by miles I will never hear the end of it.

That's some good motivation, just don't beat him by too much or you might suffer!

I only started running again after I hit the plateau.

On the plus side, I weighed myself this morning at 12 st 12. 2 pounds till I finally break the 13st barrier.

On the down side, my clothes are rather snug and need replacing. I have had to change most of my work shirts already

Still stuck around the same weight and have lost my appetite. May just take it easy for a bit then go on a muscle kick after my birthday in a few weeks.

Was inspired to go for a run last night and managed a 5 mile run in 41 mins so I might not die in this marathon relay after all. Got to run 8 next Sunday. Aiming to run 6 sometime mid week then maybe 7 on monday and that should do it.

Been debating trying to shift the flab now as it is too hot to eat loads and I have hit a wall but I will persevere.

Jock I don't get that if you are trying to bulk why ur doing a marathon/lots of CV? Do you ever take a week break every 6 or so weeks?

eta: seen your reply to fenix, but surly this won't help that plateau?

All taken out of context.

I hit the plateau before I started running so that did not cause it but I have been running since and am sustaining the same weight.

I am trying to bulk yes but I also have a marathon relay in a couple of weeks so I can't get away with no training. I have only run 3 times so far though. I also think there is no point being massive and unable to run a few miles. You can do both!

So I am bulking and the runnning is more of a side project. I will be doing a half marathon in sept so it will also be helpful to build up my fitness in advance of that - unlike last time!

I don't see why you can't consoldate bulking and cardio. Some people think it helps keep the fat off. I appreciate it means a greater calorie expenditure which just means eat more to compensate.

I do partially agree, though I think it is down more to the genetics of each person, but there was certainly a massive lad at my gym who shocked me when he told me he had just run the London marathon.

Urgh, I hate people like that!

*puts jock on hate list*

I know what you mean about appetite, I really can't be bothered to eat a lot at the moment in this heat

Ha ha! I'm trying to eat about 4000 cals a day. It is a bit of a struggle! Then again, footballers etc during the world cup were eating 8000 a day.

I'm sure I can stuff down a few more steaks.

Finding the gym a bit lack lustre at the moment too. Time to power through.

My bros fiance asked if I was taking *assistance* as she hadn't seen me for a few months. I took that as a complement. Another stone to go though.
