Wow! The longest career I had was about 15 years. All the great players at the time became coaches and I signed alot of them, even some of my own former players. It gets strange when the game begins to invent people and you don't know who's who.

The new Brazilian players don't have nicknames, they have all their long names! I used to go in and give them nicknames... Sad?

Bearing in mind, i'm speaking from the PC persepective. FM08 fucks you over too often.

While i totally agree with it being virtually impossible to have a perfect season year on year, consistency is a nightmare in FM08.
As Newcastle for example, i could be playing Arsenal, Liverpool, CHelsea, Man U and Derby in the first four games. I could beat the big four easily and then get hammered 4-0 at home off Derby.

Winning 2-0 at home and should have been more vs Inter in CL Semi. I go away and i'm winning 2-1 at ht. 1-4 on agg. Because the game has already decided I'm not going to win, it takes over and i get beat 6-5 on agg no matter what i did.

As for tactics. Forget how you would want to play in real life, it doesn't work like that. There's little logic in the tactics for me. It doesn't work like that. you've got to go up against the Match engine.
If your DCs are man marking. They will stick to that player so if your full backs are further up field from an attack, your DCs will look after the Strikers they're meant to be marking, but that average midfielder who has the ball can skip through the middle without a challenge.

you're coasting against a terrible team at ht, 4-0. what do you tell them? pleased? thrilled? don't let performance drop?

More often than not, you won't score again, they'll be the better team and will score and you'll be lucky to get out 4-1.

This happened me. Only I was Spurs against Liverpool in the FA Cup Semi Final, and I lost on penalties. When I clicked 'Continue game', to my surprise, the game had given me the win, instead of Liverpool.

My problem exactly. I'm currently playing as Gateshead and enjoying it. But it still fucks you over. I constantly get screwed but i keep going back to it.

I was actually talking about in the game. It decided that Inter need 5, so they'll score five this half no matter how newcastle set up.

Yours is a bug i thought they got rid of years ago. Win2-0. press cont and you've actually drew 2-2 :D

Don't use 4-4-2 whatever you do. Instant failure.

Any tips STE?

All the teams I've played agaijnst have played 4-4-2 or switched to 4-2-4 if I'm a couple of goals up
