I did this in mega-quick time last night, and just used the walk up the 2 flights of stairs and back as warm up/cool down. I went for dinner at a colleagues house, so had to be quick. It didn't cross my mind (very much) to leave it till another day, but I've got my Sat / Mon / Wed routine pretty much set in stone now.
I was worried about dinner, but it was OK, I think. Morrocan-style beef casserole with rice, and I only had one helping despite the host's insistence. The small helping of cherry crumble and the one bottle of Corona go down as the treat this week. I'll have to be 100% good on Friday now.
I can't wait to get home and see if my wife can tell the difference. Only a week to go now after today.
I am having a really, really crap day at work. The beer and food monster is going to get me.
Will that make you feel better, or worse?
I know what your saying though, work can make you feel like eating crap.
Would you not feel extra proud of yourself if you managed to tick the "ate well today" box when you go to bed?
Consider a nice bath and an early night?
Do something you enjoy doing (but you dont need to tell us what! ;-) ).
The way things are going, that thing could be jumping on the first plane out of Do(ha)dge...
Work is currently shit for me (excuse my french).
Maybe not as bad as your sounds, but pretty crap.
The thing you have to remember you dont live to work, you work to live.
Whatever happens at work its still important to do the things you want to do.
You only get one shot at this life Jimmy, so look after yourself and switch off when you leave work. I need to learn to relax and switch off and do things for ME.
At the moment losing flab is important to me. I am getting more pleasure from doing that then eating rubbish. Its a good change and is worthwhile.
Try and stick with the diet/exercise when things are tough. Its worth it. Good luck.
As Lardass says, work to live not the other way around. But resolve to have a great day in work tomorrow and try to convince your colleagues that you have totally lost the plot.
People often ask me why I am so cheerful at work - because that is the way I chose to be when I wake up in the morning !
Well I got through the weekend relatively unscathed. I had a couple of pints on Thursday night. I mean a couple. I did a half-hour blast on the exercise bike as well to assuage the guilt.
17/05 routine
DB squat - 17 kg /15 reps (bloody things are gonna be too heavy to pick up soon)
Chest Press - 65 kg / 10 reps
Lat pulldown - 60 kg / 9 reps (at last an improvement - pulled down to chest rather than back of neck)
Shoulder Press - 25 kg / 14 reps
DB curl - 10kg / 10 reps
I felt it was a really good session. I was shaking and aching afterwards. The rest over the weekend seemed to help. Still not sure what weight loss is, but I know that my clothes are much looser. And in 5 days I'll be home - I can't wait!
