I dont see any good in reading too much into feelings or over-analysing stuff. You just end up getting confused and flustered.

If I were in your shoes I would be a good friend to her, be affectionate without being sleazy, and when she is back from her trip and over her treatment tell her how you feel.

If you dont tell her how you feel she may never know, and you will only regret it.

One thing that makes me think you may be in with a chance though is the birthday plans - wanting to spend her birthday with you says a lot to me.

I kinda agree with it this way, which is why I am reluctant to ask right now, until we have met as friends a couple of times, and I have shown her that I do care about her - if her reason last time is for real then I want her to know how much she means to me, and that me seeming kewl headed about it all was def not the case! I have told her this, but it may just be too late now. I guess I am also scared that she doesn't clearly understand my feelings on the matter, things I do want to just be friends (though i have given some good hints to the contray) and goes with someone else.

On our walk I did tell her that I wished I had met her now, now that she was more over her illness and that my head is in a better place, she said what if I was with someone now, I then said I am sure I would have won you over and winked! :o

However, what does make me think I am wasting my time is the lack of reply to one of my texts, I really don't wanna text again, and prob won't, as if she can't be bothered to reply, surely that is a clear sign! It also kind of puts the ball in her court, but on the other hand I know I have to prove my worth and just taking a back seat ain't gonna do that!

That seems like over-analysing to me!

Her phone may be lost, broken, stolen, she may be busy at work, she may have no signal, she may have left it at home, she may have left it in the car, she may have run out of credit, she may be changing contacts etc - there could be loads of reasons she hasn't replied.

Just leave it for a while.

How long is a while but...

I text at 9pm last nite!

I was going to give it to tonite, but I am away for the rest of the week so was hoping to meet up (if she was up for it) before then.

tbh, its actually starting to annoy me a bit, the not knowing. I generally like things on the table, but in this case just not so early that it mite screw things up - if there are things, could all be in my head.

Give her a break! Have you considered that she doesn't know either, you're assuming she knows what she wants and you're just trying to get it out of her.

Just take it a bit at a time and see how it goes. Stop trying to second guess her thinking when she may not be sure of her own thoughts.

Well, i gave in and texted the following nite, "Up to much tonight?"

...the reply i got was...

"Hey, apologies for last nite, was at cinema with claire until 11:30 and had to leave her home, not up to much except for writing up continuing development plan, fun eh!"

My reply to that...

No worries, what you go see? Similar to me, stuck in the office doing work! :(

reply back...

"Forgetting Sararh Marshall, was ok, bit brainless"

My reply...

"You up to much rest of week? Am away from thurs to sun, if your free and fancy doing something tues or wed"

reply back...

"its kinda hectic, my colleague has her exam in 2 weeks so we're revising stuff after work for the next 3 nights since I'm away at the weekend too"

My reply...

ok. no worries, guess i just like your company ;)

Reply back...

"Reckon i guessed that! Not avoiding you, just temporarily unavailable"

My reply...

lol, its kewl, can do something when you get back on mon or tues or something. My treat. if your still up for dinner and nite out sometime next weekend can you let us know what night.

Then we just left it at that.
