Well I got through the weekend relatively unscathed. I had a couple of pints on Thursday night. I mean a couple. I did a half-hour blast on the exercise bike as well to assuage the guilt.
17/05 routine
DB squat - 17 kg /15 reps (bloody things are gonna be too heavy to pick up soon)
Chest Press - 65 kg / 10 reps
Lat pulldown - 60 kg / 9 reps (at last an improvement - pulled down to chest rather than back of neck)
Shoulder Press - 25 kg / 14 reps
DB curl - 10kg / 10 reps
I felt it was a really good session. I was shaking and aching afterwards. The rest over the weekend seemed to help. Still not sure what weight loss is, but I know that my clothes are much looser. And in 5 days I'll be home - I can't wait!
Nice to see you are enjoying workouts and seeing siugns of progesss. With the lat pulldowns, I don't know if anyone has told you (hence the reason you changed), but the behind the neck version externally rotates the shoulder and puts the rotar cuff in a position where it can easily be injured, so theyt arent wise really. Underhand pulldowns to the chest are much safer and put the biceps in their strongest position to better work your back.

Again I was absolutely shattered at the end of the working day, but luckily I didn't have to drive the hour+ back to Doha, so when I got back to the flat I was a bit more awake. Any thoughts I had of skipping a session were soon vanquished to the naughty step and I went for it.
DB squats - 20 kg / 11 reps - more like it.
Chest Press - 65 kg / 11 reps
Lat Pulls - 60 kg / 9 reps - tried the underhand front style as suggested - kills the forearms!
Shoulder Press - 30kg / 11 reps - happy with this, my shoulders are usually the weakest link
DB Curls - 10 kg / 11 reps - feel the burn, baby, burn!
I'm glad I went. That feeling of tiredness and euphoria is almost sexual. I was very happy that I was able to improve on everything (apart from Lats - but different style) again.
But then later my bladder started playing up. I drank a litre of water before, during and after the gym and started peeing for England, Scotland and Wales. I even had to get up at 4am to empty again. Maybe it's not a good idea to drink so much water late on, eh? Still, you have to keep hydrated during exercise. Maybe it's all the lard coming out. Wishful thinking.
Well, one more session on Wednesday, then the following night I fly back to the UK. I'm going to carry on with the plan while I'm home at a local gym that does PAYG (pay as you grunt).

Right on! Its the dogs bollocks isnt it!
Keep it up mate. Yesterday I felt like skipping the gym, but like you glad I went.
Let us know if your missus notices any difference, and keep posting.
Good luck mate.
My first slip last night. I had to meet my boss after work and it was after 8 when I got home and I hadn't eaten so I knew it was going to be too late to do a gym sesh then eat dinner, so I ate and then had an earlyish night (missing the CL final, but hey-ho).
I won't let it destroy my good work so far though. I'll just do the session tonight. I fly home at 2am, so have plenty of time to do gym, eat, pack and get to the airport. It'll probably work out alright as I will be doing a Sun/Tue/Thu workout plan next week.
Can't wait to get home, mind, Hopefully the wife will already notice the difference. Right - back to the tongue exercises.
Not good. Came back to the UK and it's gone a bit awry, to be honest. I thought, fair enough, back on the plan when I return to Qatar - routine is a good thing as far as I'm concerned, as it helps me to fit the eating and exercise in as part of the routine, but then there was a spanner thrown in the works by some political problems with work and I might not be going back to Qatar for another week or two, if at all, and I'm going to be working down in Somerset next week. The positive thing is that they are endeavouring to get me back there ASAP or allocated elsewhere. The sooner the better, as far as I'm concerned. Being at home is nice, but with the lack of routine, it's been a bit of a nightmare eating-wise.
I will report back when things are clearer. Whatever happens, I am going to get back into this. Just need some clarity.
