Any of you guys consider yourself an entrepreneur?
Like to share your success (or otherwise) stories?

I would have prob said more yes to this when I was younger. But what really do you mean by an entrepreneur? I have started my own business and have went out to find clients, but to me this is really being an entrepreneur.

I guess I mean someone who has the drive to make money and not have to work for someone else. Not sure thats the right definition. Everyone at work seems "content with their lot". I wish people had some ambition and we could spur each other one. Lightweights.

Then in that case, yes, as it was one of the main reasons I left my company.

I had my own business, built it up then sold it i retired at 47.

I was some what lucky i guess when i had my business bank base was at 14% and i became cash rich so i remember one year i had a 9% contribution to bottom line from earned interest, how ever if at all possible your goal should be to become self financing, easier said than done but if your in hoc to any financial institution Bank, Factoring, Invoice Discounting ect the cost of using other peoples money will restrict your ability to prosper

Takes some bollocks I imagine.
Were you pretty confident it was a goer before you jumped, or did you take a huge risk?
Thanks!

I was actually in a very good and in my eyes a very well paid job, one were I was well respected, i was firstly approached by another company to go and contract for them, but ended up turning it down, as I was too scared that it wouldn't last - while the money was better for the new company, if it was only going to be short term it wouldn't have been worth it. Then I got approached by another company, some months later, I was to'in and fro'in about moving, should I, shoudln't I, spoke to various people, but then thought fuck it, so decided to go. It meant moving to another location - that didn't bother me tbh. As time went on I knew it was def the right choice, I then started to look towards finding other clients, which I have done, and have recently started to use my money to try to build an investment portfolio.

In short, yes it wasn't an 'easy' choice, but it turned out to be the right one. I know I would have regretted not making the choice I did, and wish I done it the first time around as the guy who got my position in the new company is still there two years later!

I should also add that I tend to have the additude that should it not work, it would be a kick up the arse for me to move to another part of the world and try something diff - which was on my mind.

Are you thinking of doing something? What line are you in? Would it be in?
