I know it's probably a bit gimicky, but it basically tracks a load of information while you run and then detaches into a USB stick so that you can upload the information to the Nike website.

You can see it here >>

Anyone got one? Or given it a go?

How accurate is it? Does it use GPS or is it a glorified pedometer?

I don't think it uses GPS. You plot your run on the Nike site before you leave. The sportsband measures how far you've gone, calories burned, time etc ...

And then you come home and upload all the information on to the Nike site and it keeps track of your progress.

I think that's pretty much the jist of it ...

Hi guys,

I brought the Nike Plus sports band last week and have been using it every day since i've had it down the gym.

Basically how it works is, you have a wrist band which you attach before every run, with a usb slotted into it, this needs to be strapped to the inside of your wrist. You also put a device into your shoe under the insole which connects up with the wristband. However - you have to own a pair of Nike Plus running shoes for this to be possible, which isn't made totally clear when you buy the product. Just so happened i brought a pair of nike plus trainers before i brought the device- stroke of luck.

I thoroughly recommend it being 20 and having just started running properly, it helps me track how well i'm doing and allows you to set personal goals if you're into that kind of thing. Also its ideal for all ages of runners who would like to track their progress over a period of time. £40 well spent i'd say.

Hope this helps.

LOL I'm afraid not. I used to do a bit of running, but more as a hobby or relaxation than for any serious fitness or reaching any milestone. I don't do any running as I'm trying to put on weight now, but I do miss it! I did contemplate doing the London Nike run but never got round to it because of work.

There are some runners on here. I know hatter, pge, captain and gubernatrix have trained for stuff, only person I can think off top of my head as running now is noffles.

Stick around, you might like the other discussions going on here :)
