Just back to this a sec - I thought you were losing weight Tom? Why would you want to take Creatine?

Lift more/run more = build more muscle burn more...

Yop won't be building muscle, building muscle & losing fat can't be done at the same time (although a small amount may be built & especially when talking about beginners)

How does it make you run more? Can you not just run without it?

Creatine doesn't help you run - it assists with short bursts of strength (i.e. getting one more rep out) rather than helping with endurance performance.

However, if you do more reps, you burn more calories ergo, it's good for fat loss driven by a weight lifting programme.

I loaded up on Creatine Mono (with Dextrose as per the New HIT) a few weeks back, I dissolved 20g of it in 4 litres of water & supped it throughout the day. That with the increased calories I gained 6lbs

Since then I've been maintaining (5g after breakfast in 1 litre of water) but have missed 4 days & screwed it up by losing 5lbs in body weight.

Do I need to reload? Or should I just sack it off & not bother?

Nice work! That's a good result.

Whoops! Better planning neded next time I think! :-)

You've got two choices really. You could do the loading phase again after a few days off and see if you benefit from it, or not bother depending on what you feel. You may find you don't get the same effects next time as you don't have that rebound from dieting on your side anymore, but if you have enough, you could give it a try.

But ultimately, I can't predict the results of a second time so it is up to you whether you want to try it again or not.

How's the rest of the muscle gain going for you. Eating enough? Workouts going ok?

Keep it up!

Cheers Ant, I think I'll give it break as from today then reload from Monday, should be interesting to see the effect.

I'm slowly adding calories (& enjoying it), upto 2500 currently & keeping it clean. I'm enjoying my workouts, been putting in some really good efforts, though I'm thinking I may reduce from 12 exercises down to 10 or maybe 8 but I'll give it a couple more weeks. I don't think I've put any muscle on just yet & thankfully no fat. I'm due a measure up so I'll get it done over the weekend :)

I'd drop down to 10. I wouldn't drop down to 8 just yet, but go with 10 for now and see how you get on.

After tonight's session I think I will :) 10 exercises will be less mentally challeging than 12, I could easily trim a couple off each routine

Do I need to avoid caffine whilst using Creatine? Ellington says so during the loading phase but does it need to be avoided all the the time whilst using it?

* edits nonsense*

Hi Mate

Depends how much you have. Are we talking a couple of cups of tea per day, or are you a chain coffee drinker?

Assuming that's the only caffeinated drink you have, I wouldn't worry about it. If you start to drink it often then I'd take note, but otherwise, you'll be fine.
