You can actually make your own Delhi fillers.

Just get a jar of mayo, and a jar of Pataks curry paste, and mix in 2 teaspoons of it into the Mayo. Then add some finely chopped chicken chunks.

On the other hand, I've been chatting with a few guys online recently on OUT who are all gay dads. AS there are now so many fathers who have finally come out of their closets doesn't this send a positive message to all those kids who have gay parents?

I do not think it has anything to do gay relationships. Think New York deli, think a man serving you food -

Mayo with New York Deli flavour

Not offensive, but definitely lazy and contrived.

Lazy because of the use of American actors for an international campaign, (despite English kids in uniform)

We all know that most New York deli's are run by ex-pat Brits, who speak the Queen's English

TBH you all seem to be taking this advert a different way to me

I thought the "mum" was just a figure that represented the heinz company. And in reality the mum was just a woman.

Yes me too ( I think ).... I assumed that we were seeing her inner self or one of her selves ( a wise cracking american deli- man) rather than watching a gay couple where the children call one of them 'mum'... that would just be weird.

The joke is that women have to be 'everything' isn't it? but also that women can be capable and in control while everyone else in the family seems in chaos.

On a different level I think it's good to see men kissing on the television - it shouldn't be such a shock for children.

I didn't mind it at all

This is what I took the advert for too! It's not a gay couple at home at all - it's a new york deli chef makign sandwiches at home for family as the mum figure!

Which begs the question, why push that image in the faces of UK consumers yet again...

I don't think it's offensive, but there was no need for the gay kiss. It just doesn't add anything to the advert. Seemed to be a gay kiss for gay kisses sake.

well, without the kiss, nobody would have complained and talked about it, seems like successful advertising to me...
