Jaz Rignall, I remember him! And Radion Automatic. They had little cartoons of them next to the game review scores. I'm sure I've still got those old Mean Machines around somewhere. The golden age, etc.
Yeah, all mine are in attic! I remember buying Mean Machines even though I didn't have a Sega! It was in decline by the time they introduced a Mean Machines Nintendo. I bought Game Play for all my Nintendo news as I liked the anime style.
Wasn't the Nintendo Mean Machines called Nintendo Magazine System? My mind plays tricks. Didn't know C&VG was still going - it must be on its last legs.
Went over to Future Publishing when bought from Dennis who bought it from Emap for reasons they could never figure out, considering the way they treated it.
Dunno about any physical magazine now, they might have put it to sleep, but the website's still going strong as a group portal for all their titles, at
www.computerandvideogames.com
Hopefully that'll work if I used the Add a Link button [EDIT] Nope, still cycling back round to MS, copy and paste that link and it should work.
I'm sure I saw it the other day! Yeah, Chris, it was called Nintendo Magazine System! Another contender for worst game- Pit Fighter! Looked good in the arcade but was the stuff of nightmares on the Amiga! Talking of Amiga's, anyone have the Amiga 500? With the TV modulator thing you had to plug in the back? What a pain that was!
Some people come up to me in the street, and they say, gee Derek, Mario Kart Wii is shit. And then other people say, Derek, Gee, Wii Mario Kart is shit. Other people say, Mario, Gee, Kart, Derek, Wii shit is. Other peoples say, Rek, Med, Rio, sart, hitk Wii. I'm scared.
Play the tape to load each character, Anthony?! Ha-ha. Yeah, I remember the ole Speccy 48k.
SF2 was 128k only, because of the size and detail of the graphics required, which was why it was even more frustrating that they didn't do it on disk!!!! You make a really god conversion, then screw it up with the loading system. How hard would it have been? Seriously US Gold you bloody cowboys! :-p
Still, got a SNES with it at a later date, so no big!

All graphics and gore- no gameplay!
I agree. It's the Tekken and Street Fighter syndrome! In fact Mortal Kombat on the SNES had no gore either as it was all censored.
That's why I got MK2, so it had progressed now they had a budget to having good gameplay with the new combo system, etc. and Nintendo had got over their fear of complaints and got the blood out again! :-)
