I am popping my speed dating cherry on Thursday. Should be a laugh. Anyone done this before?

My mate booked it this morning following drunken conversations. I gather there are 20 girls (I presume 20 guys) and you spend 4 mins with each. Quite looking forward to it.

I never did it'; it got cancelled twice; too many girls and not enough guys! :-( I wouldnt have complained!

I'd still be up for doing it but I'm not really old enough for the 21-30 age range that most seem to be.

The one I was going to do I believe you got about 3-5mins with each and then had to tick a box; would like to 'date', 'friend' or 'no'

This one is 22 - 29 for blokes and 21-28 for girls. Not sure why they are different age brackets. I more or less fall right in the middle of that at 26.

...but if you can't get too drunk surely no one has anything to say to each other.

yeah I am but I'd be looking for someone my age or younger so that doesnt leave much! n I think 30yo women would be a bit annoyed if they turned up thn I was sat across the table!

I was chatting to my pal about this the other day (he is 25). How we would happily go out with someone 3 years younger (23 for me) but not 3 years older (29 for those without a calculator). No real reasoning behind that though.
