Having a few to get the conversation going is one thing, getting arse-faced so you dribble/drop your pint down your front/talk gibberish/slur your words is quite another.

It was a bit rubbish! There was supposed to be 20 girls and guys but 13 girls went and 12 guys. Some guys had a look around the room and left as soon as they saw the girls!

I would say it was good banter but don't go expecting to find love. There was one quite attractive girl but she was dull as. Some of the other girls (admittedly that I wouldn't look at on a night out) had great banter. I swapped no's with one because of that but she now texts me every 5 mins so that was an error!

I would consider doing it again but I wouldn't be in a hurry to do so.

Oh no! :-D

Sorry it was a bit of a disappointment Jock, you've got to be in it to win it though!

Bloody men arriving and then leaving after seeing the women though. How shallow??!

Personality can only make up for a certain amount of fugliness!

Maybe give it another go jock? Maybe the moon was out and it was just a bad night? The guys who turned up and left may have been before and didn't want to waste their effort on a group of girls they thought were under-par.

The guys who turned up, had a look and then left are well rude! :-O

I think if you approach these things too seriously then it will go wrong. I once went - it was a charidee do, organised by some colleagues of one of my friends, and I was staying with her - and 80% of the people were there for a laugh, and the remaining 20% were so serious and thus boring about the whole thing.

You do need a variety of opening statements and things to ask/tell though, as it does get a bit boring when you get to the tenth person: 'So then, who do you know/where are you from/what do you do?'

I have noticed that there are speed flatmating events being held in London and Manchester - I bet they would be quite fun to go to!

Admittedly me and my pal consider going as well!

It was fun.

There was a guy there that, in 4 mins, managed to tell every girl about the protein shakes he took! Ha ha. And no, it wasn't me.

Funnily enough I was on a date last night with someone I met a few weeks ago. I won't be pursuing that either. Statistically I must be due meeting someone I want to get involved with. I hope.

The fact that men even use the phrase 'under par' means they don't deserve to get laid.

I hope there were super hot women in the loos who then came out and went home with one of the nice guys.
