The Machinist came out in 2004, and Batman Begins came out in 2005, he actually had just 6 months to go from 121ibs to 230ibs!

bale was previously pretty big, so made it easier to bulk up, he also obviously has good genetics.

I remember reading an article about how he actually put too much wait on, and th director told him to lose some of the podge. Remember in batman that he's not exactly 10% and ripped, he's probably more like 15% and bulky

Don't forget he was only regaining his previous weight. His body was in pretty bad distress in the machinist, and it'll pile that weight on quickly when you start to eat again.

Here he is in 2002 in Equilibrium looking alot like he does/did in Batman.

Although it is a big change in a year, it's also important to keep it in perspective based on his circumstances.

i think he look better in batman than he did in the equilibrium pic, and genes trainers or a million ponds a film, from the machinist to batman is amazing,
