Seems like I'm losing the battle of the bulge and I find myself consciously aware that I need to suck it in if wearing a t-shirt or shirt. I went through a little lul where I was pinting it but not to excess, and a few weekends of pizza and take-away evenings. All the fat seems to accumulate in that particular area whereas the rest of my body looks...well...no different. I've got mates who drink much more than me who's idea of 5 a day is pints...not veg, and while they are not doing themselves any favours, the weight gain is more spread out. I'm getting to a point where I start to look like a Bushman - storing fat for extended periods.
I know what I need to do to lose this as I have been successfull before and no.1 is to give up drinking for a month at least.
Question for you Will/Anthony, or anyone on the forum - what's the reason for all the fat targeting my gut?? I know that for men the gut is the primary target and for women its the glutes but why is it I'm not getting a double chin or flabby arms and what can you recommend to effectively get rid of the dreaded 'bump'.?

Tom.
It's just genetics. I store fat in my face and gut. They're the last two places to go. I remember when I was 12st someone turned to me and said "It's weird, you're really thin, but your face is so chubby!"
Hated that.
The only way to get rid of the bump is to modify your diet and do more exercise.

Pints, pizzas and takeaways is why you have a fat gut. Fat will also be elsewhere on your body, but it's no surprise that it is most noticeable on the largest part of your body.
You can't spot reduce fat.
Improve your diet, cut out the three things mentioned above, exercise lots = fat loss !
It's simply genetics. This fat is also known as 'stubborn fat' as it's the last to go. You can also store fat around your organs, this is visceral fat and, whilst it's not visible, it is very detrimental to health.
As mentioned, it's your genetics that put fat there specificaly. It is going on all over your body, just there dissproportionately. If it goes on your belly the most, it'll also come of the same.
But again, it's no problem to get rid of. Just give up the booze and take away's, monitor what you eat, and get in the gym to lift some iron. Our Weight Loss Plan has everything you need to ditch the belly.
In a nutshell though, it is simply a case of losing fat. Mexoclas is a good example here. He didn't have much fat at all, only on his belly, but a 12 week stint at ditching the lard lost his belly completely.
