JD, we have that in the filmworks in Manchester. It's what we'll use to watch the film. £15 for a huge leather couch for you and the mrs, free soft drinks, free popcorn/hot dogs/nachos/ice cream and a waitered service for beers. Get in.

quality ;-)

i made a boo boo last night, apparently the website when you book tickets is a mirror image, so rather than booking the back i actually got the front d'oh, still an amazing film, ledger was unrecognizable and brilliant, totally stole the show,(im not just saying thatbecause hes dead) some really good bits, as has been said the pencil trick and the nurse bit really made me laugh ;-) 7 stars for me

i got into a debate the other day that heath should not get an oscar because he is dead, and whats the point, but after seeing this performance i think he deserves one, what does everyone else think?

That sounds amazing! Do you buy the cinema tickets on top or is that the whole cost??

Just been to see this. It was good, prob not as good as all the hype as I felt like I'd seen it all before. The Joker is great though. The leading lady wasn't hot enough either.

Batman talks in a silly voice as well which I found a bit annoying later on in the film.

I'd give it 4 stars still.

The motor bike is ace.

Awfully disappointing.

To think that IMDB has this down as the best film ever. it isn't even the best comic book film this year (Iron Man gets that.)

Heath's Joker is too mental for me.

The film just seems like one big message about being a good person.

I'm a fan of Bale, but his performance here is off. I do now wonder if he has had personal problems whilst filming and they have affected his performance.

This isn't a batman film. It's a crime thriller in the vein of Heat, with batman in.

Very, very average.

6/10.

Disagree with you totally there Dan! The Joker was terrifyingly mad, absolutely fantastic from Ledger. It urinated all over Nicholson's Joker. A fantastic film. It wasn't colourful and light like the other comic adaptations this year, it was really dark with a forboding sense of hopelessness. Brilliant.

Just back from the cinema.

Meh.

Ledger was decent.
Bale was...well in fairness there is not an awful lot of acting as Batman.

Excellent performances from Caine and Freeman.
Whats Russian for 'no I won't rub any more bloody suncream on' Legend.
I did laugh when Ledger washed his hands in the hospital.

I would prefer an 18's version were Batman crosses the line. That would make a real film. One that not worried about selling Burger King Batman toys to kids.

I saw this last night - v long film! I quite enjoyed it, much more than I did Batman Begins. It was a dark and grim film, more like a terrorist thriller than a superhero film. Begins was too formulaic - origin story for hero and villain, big fight, not get the girl etc.

I don't know if Ledger deserves an Oscar (worse actors have won one) but it was a remarkable performance. I don't think it was better or worse than Jack Nicholson, just different. He was a very threatening character, much more so than the scarecrow from previous film. Shame Two Face did not get much screen time.

Bale was nothing remarkable, but as SB says it's quite hard to demonstrate much acting ability in that role. Still, I think Michael Keaton did a better Bruce wayne. Bale's gritty Batman voice was ridiculous - as one reviewer put it, sounded too much like Marge simpson! There were a few plotholes but not too many that weakened the film. The mobile phone/Lucius Fox morals plot device felt a bit forced.

The ending sets the scene for an even darker sequel. I give it 4.5/5
