Yup you can, but you'll need to them on a micro proof bowl/dish and cover with cling film.
Pierce the film in 1 -2 places to let the steam out and cook as soon as possible after cutting them before they start to go brown - or add some lemon juice to stop them turning brown.
Cooking them whole is less fuss - the skin does the same job as the cling film, and as they are from your garden they will be chemical free so I would be happy to eat the skin too.
Crumble topping freezes well and you can use it straight form the freezer - so it is worth making up a large batch and freezing the excess.
