Hey all, thought long and hard about deciding on whether to enter this challenge or not and decided after my acheivements in the DD and my lack of posting in my training log since I thought id struggle with commiting to it. However im now settled into my new job have got myself pretty much ready for the rugby season I want to hit the weights again hard and try and cut down to 80kg by christmas. The 6 pack would be a bonus; which I am aiming for but this time my diet has to be spot on 100% of the time. No random nights out drinking loads or eating the wrong type of food.

Current stats,

Weight 86kg
Height 186cm

Im going to do some different pics from the end of the DD challenge as I have changed a tiny bit over the past 3-4 weeks since the end of the DD. Hope to get them up over the BH weekend. I never lost focus on exercise just my eating habits. My diet on this one is my main concern.

Workout routine will consist of
Monday: Back and Triceps
Tuesday Shoulders and Abs
Wednesday: Rest
Thursday Legs
Friday Chest and Biceps
Saturday Rugby
Sunday: Rest/swim/golf.

Firstly I know most people do chest and tri and back and bi routines but I want to try it this way. My biceps will get a small workout on my back exercises and vice versa. Also as the rugby season goes on I will change my leg workout to a Tuesday instead.
Im going to try the above for the first 7 weeks before changing slighty to a hard full body 3 times a week for the last 7 with the main focus going on my calorie intake.

Calorie wise im going to start on 1800 calories. Its worked for me well in the past and will see h0w I go for the first 2 weeks before looking at it again.

Good luck to all in the challenge :-)

Been a hectic few days since Friday. Seen a physio and my neck is so much better than it was last week. Lots of movement now however my neck is still stiff and sore when I wake up and I can look right over my shoulder without it hurting.

Im not allowed to do any weights for at least 4 weeks or play Rugby. I can however do non impact cardio. Primarily the bike and the cross trainer I believe would be the best ones for me to use.

Weight update: On sunday I was back up to 88kg so have really foucused on my diet this week and tried to stay away from the nasty foods) So much harder when your not doing any training.

Other stats taken on Sunday were:

Waist (around the naval) 35"
Bicep 16.5" Tense
Chest 49.5" exhaled (I think)

Bodyfat, according to my tanita scales 23.6% over the past 3 months its come down from well over 30% but thats another challenge lol. Just thought id try and cheer myself up.

Will update after my session at the gym tonight- a cardio nightmare im sure :-)

Went to the gym last night and did 20 minutes on the bike then 20 minutes on the cross trainer. Took it pretty easy and felt pretty good. Did quite alot of stretching before and after and my neck does feel a whole lot better. Bit stiff this morning but on the right track im sure.

Diet wise ive been very good although eating cottage cheese straight out of the pot for a snack isnt the best choice I have made today but I wanted something quick and I resisted the chocolate bar.

Going to the gym tonight and will increase the intensity of the cardio slightly and continue stretching etc. Missing the Rugby and the weight training already.

Weigh in on Sunday with Pics I promise, keep forgetting then not having the time etc. Hoping maintenance at the very least.

Morning peeps,

Another cardio session for me last night. I did 2000m on the rowing machine in 7:30 which I didnt think was too bad and then 20 minutes on the stepper thing which I hated, very hard work on the quads though blimey.

Diet wise been ok, although I had a small bar of kinder chocolate after the gym when I got home.

Neck was a little stiff this morning again and im hoping I will be able to go for a run tonight without having to worry about the impact. We will see I guess. Missing the rugby again tomorrow and will have to be content with standing and watching again. Not good.

good work mate. That is a decent time on the rower.

The concept2 website has a trianing log and you can compare your times to other people. It may give you motivation to try and move up to a certain place in their rankings!
