Too many giant pizzas, and subsidised snacks at the works canteen.

Beers next week with Brear to top it up ?

so almost 1 week in!

with work etc I kind of forgot it had started tbh!

I'm cracking down on my diet recently and cutting back the booze for a month (untill my birthday), as my belly skinfold is getting nearly as big as gym slacker matt! :-P

Diet has been 90% good this week; back to my usual high standards and last night I went out and only had 2 drinks - a magners and a jd n diet coke. Nothing compared to the 15-20units + I'd normally have on a night out.

Gym wise still on a twice per week schedule doing mainly 3 sets per exercise pyramiding the weight up and sticking to mainly compound exercises. Ant hads told me to drop teh intensity for 3 weeks now and altho I'll still be going to failure (i.e. when the weight stops moving), I won't be going to complete failure (i.e. panting and pushing into the weight to eek out any possible extra inches/mms of movement). Then its blitz time where I'll be working out about 8 times in 15days and most likely reverting back to my old favorite; HIT! :-)

Weights wise I'm upto about 45kg on squats now (and my back still thanks me everytime); its so much better now I do glute work such as these and SL deadlifts and lunges, and rarely bothers me at all.

I';ve been concentrating on chins for my back exercise and really enjoying them; altho as I was only able to do close grip (neutral grip) chinups all last year I actually find underhand chinups harder! I can do about 6 (maybe 7) with good controlled form, so this will be one of the areas to work on in the second 7 weeks, along with squats.

Shoulder presses are coming along nicely too; considering I'd never really done these for years (due to back probs) I am slowly approaching what wouldnt any longer be described as a laughable weight! LOL This again will be an area to work on strength wise in the second 7 tho as I want to build some bulk around my traps; can't do full DLs and shrugs seem to create tension like pain in my neck.

Not sure where all teh talk about mythree-some came from in my other log - I wish!

Just HIT it up in the gym (I couldnt go without HIT for too long! sorry Dutch! :-P)

Ant teels me to aim for an intensity of 7-8 / 10 although I'm not surer what that is apart from being just shy of complete and utter all out effort.

Todays workout.....

SLDL - 45x6
DB Split Squat Lunges - 20x6
Dips - No.6 assistx6
Chins - No.8 assistx6
BB Pullover - 35x6
DB Shoulder Press - 15x7
DB Curl - 22.5x5
Crunch - 5, 3 (very slow)

Hey hey quick update.

Wewight still teh same as the start which is a ok as I'm maintaining for another week n a bit now before a 15 day blitz where I'll be daoing split workouts every 2 days. More on that to come.

Atm though I'm takiong it easy just doing enough to maintain muscle with only 10sets a week!

Last workout was....

SLDL
DB Lunge
Machine Row
DB Shoulder Press
Plank

Not a lot else to say really.

Slowly getting used to a new routine now; working from 8 n going to the gym about half 5 6ish.

I live for thwe weekends atm but got a few days off next week so cant wait!

You need to join a club, or summat! Join a cookery class! lol

That's one of the reasons I have started rowing again, as it is a very social sport. Ad, secondly it will focus my training, and hoepfully get me half fit!
