If he's only 3, maybe leaving him to become glued to the tv/monitor screen isn;t the best thing anyway. We can't really judge without seeing the game for ourselves.
There has been a lot of debate over the years about whether playing with action toys and guns makes kids more violent. I think you need to just keep an eye on him. Loads of kids play pretending to shoot each other without wanting to pick a gun up. Presumably you don't have an actual gun in the house for him to get confused with.
Three and a half and playing computer games with guns?
Can he also

Excellent - and as an intelligent father, you know full well why I asked !

When I say he plays it's on for 20 mins here or there and then back to reading and playing with other stuff, I dont have a gun at home ! but have used them when in the forces.
I now what you mean, I've seen Ratchet & Clank & it's very non-voilent. Did you explain to her about feeling uncomfortable with your son playing with toy guns?
Does he play with older kids? 3 seems young to be playing with toy guns, I don't have any kids but I played guns as a kid but I'm sure I was older
Maybe she wants him to have more of a physical interaction instead of staring at the telly.
That's a good point but 20 minutes here & there isn't that much
It's all about balance isn't it? I don't see a problem with 20 mins of computer games a day as long as he's also reading for 20 minutes and running around for 20 mins too!
If I ever have kids I don't think I will let them anywhere near a computer untill they're a good deal older than 3. I mean, at that age, you're still developing motor function co-ordination and spacial awareness. Sitting infront of a screen does nil for either.
