I'm putting together another lengthy magazine article, this time looking at the original Xbox. What do you all see as the highs/lows of the life and times of the original Xbox? Obviously the 'Halo effect' and huge Xbox Live take-up were particular highs, with the disasterous performance in Japan a real disappointment and something Microsoft have at least attempted to fix with the 360 thanks to a few more Japanese style RPGs.
Once published I'll prod you all in the general direction, as always :)
I still have my xbox and still love it! I used it a lot not just for games but also to watch DVDs and lpay music - it does the job very well with no issues. The controllers were simply perfect.
1. The networking capabilities. The original xbox has a better ability to play different types of media. It can also play shared media across a network far more easier that its successor.
2. Playboy Mansion - Quality game that really made me laugh.
3. No red light problem The new 360 is all too common to get this.
***The lows ***
1. No wireless - The controller was never wireless when it was yet it was so close to being that.
2. The original "fat" controller What a nightmare the original controller was enormous, more than a handful. They did well to change it around.
3. NO USB - USB far too common and they didn't utilise it at all.
I love my original Xbox and I still use it today for its networking capabilities.

Altho I have not used it for a while due to time.
I still use my xbox, but just for films, it plays ANY format of film, it's great at that!!
