I can't help thinking this is even more biased towards richer countries. Some countries can barely scrape money together for the fully able athletes to train, they're never going to have facilities for disabled people, are they? That's why I find a lot of the Olympics slightly ridiculous, esp given the exorbitant money spent on it.

Ok, I don't get it. Why did they have a closing ceremony, and hand over the flag, when the olympics wasn't actually finished?!
The Olympics were finished. This is the paralympics, for people with physical disabilities. Different competition, different events, same venues
Will there be a flag handed over to Boris at the end of these games too then?
Maybe he'll perfect keeping his hands out his pockets/not shaming us this time.

We were in a video footage in my A level sport studies with Seb Coe, when his running days. He lived in a cramp one bed flat and had only a few household items; and this was a a national hero.
This has is worst Olympics to be a British gold medalist. There were 19 gold medals and 47 medals in total. So potential money they could have pro-olympics would be limited compared to if they won a gold medal in 1996. During the Atlanta games in 1996, there was only one gold medal and 15 medals in total.
Whoever, got that gold medal in 1996 had more money potential then someone who won a gold this summer.
