Still going great guns with the AIWFX challenge here.. Although I have managed to strain something in my abs above my scar, so my physio has made me cut back on some of the bodyweight exercises i'm doing this week.
I'm enjoying my weekly Pilates class immensely and still giving it large on the stationary bike every morning for 45 mins..
Diet has been hit and miss but i think i have finally cracked it and i'm down to 12stone 7lbs now. Not a huge weight loss but at least i'm moving in the right direction..
Aiming for 12stone and hopefully i might be able to catch a glimpse of my top abs soon!!!
Had my week off last week due to my abdominal strain, so as of today i'm back on the for the second stage of AIWFX. I am back doing my daily cardio in the morning and then my stretches and some push-ups in the evening.
I am aiming for 12stone and getting my body fat down, both of which has proved problematic in the first stage of AIWFX. I guess that my challenge was always going to open up with my desire to get back into regular training after my operation, and at least to get some control over my diet. Now in the second stage i want to take all that forward and sort my diet out..
I am determined to be 12stone by the end of the challenge and hopefully will have reduced my body fat from what it was when i started..
I'm kinda guessing from experience that i'll have to get down to 11stone 7lb to really get the bodyyfat down and the six pack showing. I reached 11stone 10lb just before Christmas last year and was quite pleased with the results.
I've tried a plethora of diets over the past 3 months since my operation, namely:
the Kellogs Diet whereby you eat two bowls of Special K a day and get very bored
the Atkins Diet where you eat only 20g of carbs a day for a fortnight
the South Beach Diet, which is Atkins by another name
the TNT Diet, which was born out of...
The Testosterone Advatange Plan, which is basically a slightly higher carb version of...
The South Beach by another name
And finally, the Abs Diet where you seemingly drink quite a few smoothies and is a combination of all of the above, except the Kellogs thingummy.
I just eat 4 sensible meals a day + cake, and train hard in the gym.
I've never really tried following a diet or a strict macro split. I have heard lots of good things about the zone diet though.
I guess you are more susceptible to weight loss, as you were once overweight, and so have more fat cells. Perhaps increasing your metabolism through weight training would be a better idea.

Cheers for reminding me!! Naghh i agree about the fat cells, and trust me if i was able to increase my metabolism through weight training I would, but at the moment that is completely out of the question according to my physio. I'm doing cardio daily and as i say i do some body weight stuff such as press-ups, but that's it.
