In no particular order (and might change if I give it some actual thought) 10 would probably be:
Prince of Persia
Kung Fu Master (Arcade, most of the conversions were crap)
Dizzy series (Treasure Island Dizzy if I need to pick one from the series)
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
Joe Blade 2
Kong
Shinobi
New Zealand Story
IK+
Gouls and Ghosts
Did anyone else play this? Im tempted to dig out my megadrive this weekend now...
I played that. It was the follow up to Another World (called something different on the megadrive I believe).
Prince of Persia originally brought lifelike animation to a computer game through one of the first computer game applications of rotoscoping. Mechnar also looked at the game from the point of view that computer games at that time were about as advanced as movies were when they were silent movies (chaplin, etc.) so it used simple graphics with beautiful animation, and crude cut scenes.
Another World then took that to the next level to match the technology at the time by introducing full screen movie style animated cut scenes on top of the realistic animation, and also added them in game as well as in between levels, etc. This was all executed around a movie style story line so it ran a lot like an interactive movie.
Flashback followed that up again by improving the graphics some more to match the systems at the time and following a similar pattern of movie style story line, realistic animation, and cut scenes.
Wasn't a big fan of Flashback personally (although I can appreciate everything that made it what it is), and enjoyed Another World a lot more.
Out Of This World it (Another World) was also called. I just fired up my SNES emulator to get the title. Don't know if the Megadrive version had the same title though. Great game though.
I have loads of Megadrive games that I play on my PC using emulators and ROMS, and they work and look perfect.
You want GENS 2.14 and then you can download the roms from here
Dead easy to use. Just make a new folder in program files or whatever, then extract the downloaded ROM to that folder and put GENS in the same folder, then open GENS and click load ROM.
