Enjoying a sort of rest period between challenges. But still went rock climbing last night and gym today but was a much more leisurely affair.

For the next part I want to focus on being fit for snowboarding. So need to get the cardio fitness up and gym wise, core and leg work should be a focus. The trip's going to be a 3 weeker and quite likely burning the candle at both ends so endurance and stamina is what I need.

I'm going to start running again, as haven't really been at all since I've been trying to weight gain. Thinking I might aim for 3 times a week. Gradually building distance. Mountain biking too, couple of times a week (if I can fix bike!)

Going to do a few circuit classes, spinning etc as well.

Weights wise, heavy lifting full body 2-3 times a week to maintain mass.

Putting on anymore weight during this stage is likely to be difficult. So happy if I stay roughly the same. Will prob have to bump up the calories to provide the energy for cardio.

If anyone is aware of any snowboarding specific routines, advice or webpages then they will be gratefully received.

Hi Fishy!

Will you be running on a tread mill at gym or use a rower if the weather is bad or is it "outdoors or bust?"

Either really depending how I feel, prefer outside running and rain doesn't bother me! Just been on a quick run round the block in the dark to ease myself back in gently!

I'll definitely have a go on the rower too. And them crazy climbing things they have in the gym.

That is brilliant Fishy - you have a Plan B for wet weather which could make you an AIWFX winner!

Sometimes I think time distorts in my world! Can't believe it's been so long since I posted, in fact, prob something to do with shifts i reckon. I haven't been to the gym at all for a million and one reasons/excuses. I am going to have a look at some routines I was interested in and hopefully be hitting gym straight after morning shift tomorrow. Can't believe I'm late for AIWFX part 2 as well, I should go stand on the naughty step!

On the plus side, my flight for 3 weeks of boarding is booked! So def have to get my cardio going now, and I have been doing more jumping as well, potentially 3 away from first freefall now, cannae wait!

Right been working hard at the gym but posting on here not so much!

Been doing a fair bit down the gym, lots of leg work for snowboarding.

Swiss ball squats, pausing at the bottom and trying to hold it.
Calf raises on machine
Barbell Squats
Leg presses

+ plenty of core work.

Swiss ball mountain climbers
leg raises
swiss crunches
obliques
plank

+ normal compound exercises to keep me balanced

bench
lat pulldown
dips

Got it separated into a 3 day split, which i'll post when i find it along the lines of A, B , C, rest with B being a mainly cardio day.

Building up the cardio slowly as cardio wise I'm quite unfit. Doing around 10 mins fast cycling and 10 mins fast running (<8min mile pace) and adding about 5 mins every visit.

Calf raises
Lat Pulldown
Swiss ball crunches weighted
Swiss ball oblique raises weighted

30 mins running, quite enjoyed this, even though I when I finished I was soaking wet through - eurgh! Never really been a fan of cardio before and not run for 30 mins since school!

hopefully going to get down again tomorrow.

doin a run occasionally is quite good, lifts the mood. I used to go for a quicky in the morning when its freezing and cold, really awakens you, face comes back red as hell! Dont run much now mind, conc on bulking and just weights/swimming.

You snowboard? u booked anyway this season?
