I would say mid-50s is middle aged, and then mid-70s is getting old.
I agree. Though I probably won't feel that way at 70 (hopefully anyway!)
It's moved loads in the last generation - think to my grandfolks, and they were past it when they were 40, in terms of thought processes/attitudes/dress, etc Whereas, today, my folks are mid 50s and still with it, but you can tell they are maturing now!
With my grandfolks, it wasn't til they hit 80 that we began to think of them as being old, as my grandad was, and my grandma has been forced to slow down a bit now.
for the most part, getting in touch with an ex only reminds you why you split up?
Take heart you lads, it's usually for the best.
Absolutely agree, leave it to the past.
Like Pugs and Shuts, it's great seeing all the preppy folk from my year who peaked in high school. For the most part they haven't moved on from their high school chums, in an effort to remain popular.
One of my best friends was a real geek at school, and now he is a really good looking bloke. Nowadays he has to beat women away with a shitty stick.
Ach Shuts, you didn't have to bring me up in this thread! :P
lol, honestly but, I ain't that bad, but it does all sound similiar, I know I was a geek in school, but now I have dropped that imagine and a good few girls that I used to fancy like hell in school have seen me out and made a move on me, I regret to say that they just don't hold the shine they did in school.
Same story as you lot with the lads, the 'cool' ones are now all down and outs.

Going off topic, but on this I have no idea, as I haven't kept in touch with many people from schooldays, other than 2 v good friends and lesser contact with three others. They were all decent people at school and still are now 10 years later!
I bring it on myself really, every few years I e-mail this chap who was my first love... just to check he's alive, which is invariably is. This time he's got a bit chatty and got on my nerves so I think I'll leave it a while :-)
I'm sure he's a decent bloke ( still) but the internet doesn't do people any favours and people can come across as w*nkers with the best will in the world... but I'm not going to hang around to work it out.
