Thanks for the feedback guys..

I thought my fruit/veg intake wasn't too bad but looking at it on paper it's not great!! I'll definately need to sort that one out!

The healthy eating meal plan looks good - I think I've got plenty of reading to be getting on with tonight with this and everything else in the answers sections!

At my height and weight what sort of calorie intake should I be looking for? 1800? more/less?

I would be more than happy if I could lose 20lbs of the blubber!

Not sure about what calorie intake you should be on...

I would definately consider making short term goals, like every 2-4 weeks.
This way your not focusing on some aribitraty time in the future.

Good luck.

That's a great idea - first short term goal - at least 7lbs in the next three weeks!

I've now got some measurements so I can keep track of how much of that huge belly I'm losing..

Off to cook some dinner now, I'll be back in a bit to post what I've eaten today!

250ml Milk 120 cals

Snack
Kids Eat Natural bar 110cals

Lunch
Thai Seafood Salad 600cals - no idea but a high guess!
6 prawn crackers 90 cals

Snack
2 plums 60cals
Kids eat natural 110cals

Dinner
Chicken Prosciutto
1 Chicken Breast 200cals
3 slices prosciutto 95cals
15g Parmesan 35cals

Asparagus + baby corn 25cals

Total: ~1635 calories

In all not too bad calorie wise, I still need to get more fruit and veg in there though. Lunch was down the pub as it was friday - I wanted to get one in before Getting into the full swing of things - at least I went for a salad, I've never seen so many chillis in a salad though!

Exercise:
Having today as a light 'rest' day as I've got my gym induction tomorrow but I wanted to keep the momentum going after starting yesterday!

Assorted stretching to improve core/posture with some body weight squats
10 mins running (1min run, 30s rest intervals)

I'm out shopping most of the day tomorrow so it will be a good test of what I can find food wise on the go!
I'm determined to make sure that I get some good food in me instead of the normal shopping fast food trip!

Food 11/10/08

Breakfast:
2 Poached egg, 2 slices white toast

Snack:
Peach
Strawberry Muller light

Lunch:
Chicken Breast/wheat Subway

Snack:
Full Sized Eat Natural

Dinner:
Chicken/lamb shish kebab w/ extra salad no garlic sauce/mayo

2 Michelob Ultra - only 90 cals eat though (Had a bad day thinking too much about the ex.)

So probably my worst day yet out of all of them, slightly expected as I was heading out shopping then over to a mates for the evening - shouldn't have had the lamb in the kebab, just chicken would have been better..

Also had my gym induction yesterday so got some exercise in!! Signed up to a monday night yoga class as well. determined to make it a good week on both the food and exercise! Off to Sainsbury's later to get bits for lunchs all week!

Cheers mate! I hope it does - I'm quite surprised that I'm not hungry all the time - must be because I'm eating properly rather than eating hardly anything!

I definitely think it's helping that I'm posting here - I'm accountable to someone now and there's no point in lying about what I'm eating!

Food 12/10/08

Breakfast:
2 poached eggs on 2 slices white toast

Lunch:
Brown tuna roll w/ salad
Banana

Dinner:
1 slice parma ham
Spaghetti Bolognaise including extra veg.

On the whole, nothing really bad. I don't feel like I had enough fruit/veg and I could have done with a couple of snacks - I was so close to having a jaffa cake and a couple of rich teas while I was cooking dinner but I made do with some parma ham instead..

I've got a lunch box just full of fruit/veg snacks for today so it should be far better!!

Also got my first yoga class tonight, I'm quite looking forward to it!

One jaffa cake won't hurt, but one has a habit of turning into two or three more !

I'm munching on sticks of raw carrot - they were on offer as today was their sell by date and they looked a bit sad, but an hour in a bowl of water in the fridge has rejuvenated them.

We'll be watching ;-)
