Crash My Model Car

This Scottish three piece fancy themselves as the new Snow Patrol

Indebted to the same north of the border indie pop that has so endeared Snow Patrol to the nation’s biscuits and tea crowd, Glasgow’s Crash My Model Car are an affectionate, crowd pleasing trio whose music sounds like it is wrapped in a warm blanket.

As evidenced by their latest Maybe EP, the now predictable loud-quiet-loud dynamic pioneered by the Pixies is apparent, albeit with a glossy, drive time sheen, as are the chiming guitars and mandatory tales of sweet and sour love.

Fortunately, familiarity does not always breed contempt, and Crash My Model Car are sure to be welcomed with open arms by the many bleeding heart romantics out there.

In fact stateside they’ve already scored a major endorsement from the hit teenage show “The O.C.”, which used one of the band’s tracks during an episode. Back home, meanwhile, they’re the talk of the town, with their gigs at King Tut’s regularly selling out.

Having just embarked on a nationwide tour, the rest of the UK is about to find out what all the fuss is about.
