Car Fuel Data

This government database could save you hundreds of pounds a year and cut your CO2 emissions to boot

If you're thinking of trading in your old wheels and want to do your bit for climate change, Car Fuel Data is worth a gander.

This government site pulls together data on noise levels and CO2 emissions for just about every new car going. Just use the drop down menus to pick the manufacturer and model and away you go.

Click on the 'more info' link next to any car and you'll get more stats than you can shake a stick at. You'll also see a handy A to F environmental guide for every new car, just like you see on the front of fridges.

Even if you're not so environmentally inclined, it's worth a look for the fuel consumption figures alone.

With the cost of gas heading skywards and higher taxes for gas guzzlers in the works, this site could save you hundreds of pounds a year.
