There's been an awful lot of guff spouted about blogs democratising publishing and lowering the barriers to entry and the like.
But all too often the reality is some muppet who's just got a Blogger account and thinks that folks will be interested in their toe nail clippings and the like. Yawn.
From time to time though you find a blog like Brandish that's so good, you're ready to forgive blogging and all its sins.
In short, Brandish is what stylish men's publishing should be about. Inside of fawning over Z list celebs or bigging up the latest supposed craze, it cuts through the crap and tells you what you really want to know.
The site's written by Ollie Irish, former editor of gadget bible Stuff magazine and deputy editor of the Observer's Sport Monthly.
When we visited, Ollie was busy putting a rocket up mobile TV, flirting with saucy weathergirl bloggers from afar and casting his beady eye on fancy fabric flats. Very swish, but bet you wouldn't get a mortgage on one.
Brandish is part of the Shiny Network, the UK's tue to life answer to the achingly hip Gawker stable of blogs. Ollie's also the editor of another top notch Shiny blog, football site Who Ate All The Pies.
So drop in and say hi from us. Long live quality blogging.
