more to the point - how does using nets actually eliminate a disease? Surely that will only control it...
Actually there is a very good case for providing nets - they are cheap and easy to use, and result in dramatic drops in infection rates. Compare that to the amounts of money spent on a vaccine that may never work (tho the money spent is a lot less than that spent on cardiovascular disease or diabetes - "Western" rich country diseases).

oh yeah don't get me wrong providing nets and resource is important to reduce infection rates as you say, but, it will not eliminate malaria. Bad choicing of words on his part. Nets are a solution to minimising the problem not a solution to the problem and resource and efforts should still be pushed into this as well.
