That makes total sense, I have said it before, but there are 4th dans at our place now, and I passed their 1st dan's!!
Yeah, the lucky thing is I'm still the most senior grade (aside from the instructor). Fortunately, my instructor has never pushed people into sitting dan gradings past 1st dan, it's up to people to get motivated for it and express an interest.
I'm dying to get my 4th Dan......:-)
