This started from Andy in the thread about getting back to your Martial Arts.
If you want to improve kicks I can give you the results of my own efforts........
Get your shorts, Gi or track suit on and go out into ther garden or the park. Get some weights (the ones you strap around your ankle with velcro) and from a stationary position slowly practise each kick - front kick, side kick, round house kick. Do as many as possible slowly changing from right to left leg.
Then, take the weights off and try kicking. Your leg flies up faster and higher than before.
I would recomend this for anyone who wants to improve kicks. Of course it takes a few sessions like this, but you can see the results in quite a short time.
If you dont have, or cant get hold of velcro ankle weights, strap a large bag of sugar onto each ankle (but make sure there are no bees or wasps around!)
Maybe some of you also have your own tips for improving kicks - let us know.
Cheers
Rod
