There is only one person who thinks you have a shite degree - and that's you. And if you treat it like a shite degree, that's what it is.

However, if any organisation only gives somebody a job based on their degree, you don't want to work for them. I don't know what your area is or what the "decent grad jobs" are, but in many areas, the degree question is yes/no rather than a ranking. If it's a points system, somebody with a third may get the same points as somebody with a first.

What you need to do is get the whole story right - sell your skills. If you had the ability to get a 2:1 (and grade should really be ability ability rather than just hard work - although there is some overlap) you should be able to use that as part of the selling process.

Following on from what others have said - I've interviewed graduates who think just being a graduate is enough. They don't get the jobs.
