As it took me two weeks to do one week's worth of workouts, I am now doing week 3 in week 4, but that is a bit confusing, so am just gonna get on with it!
Went to the gym this morning, and it was nice and quiet, as expected on BH Mon, but the equipment hoggers were there in force, and were chatting merrily away between sets, which was a bit annoying.
Managed to up weights on Bent Over Row, from 45kgs to 50kgs. I also got a couple more reps out of both the chest exercises: the bench press and incline DB presses, which is good :)
This week is going to be another awkward week, as I am away in London all day on Weds, and then at a wedding on Saturday, which involves an overnight stop. Will do my damndest to get the three workouts in. It's a hard life! :-P
Really weird one this, but today I have felt as if my chest is a teeny weeny bit bigger, following on from yesterday's workout. It is probs all in the mind, and just a consequence of the sides of my chest feeling the gym taughtness from yst!
But....I have put another pair of shorts on today, and they are decidedly tighter round the waist than they were last year :-/
I know I won't fit in a full gym session today, as out this afternoon, and not back til probs 7 or 8pm tonight, so went for a swim this morning ,as a mind clearing exercise ready for my interview later on.
Went about 10.30 and pretty much had the pool to myself, so knocked out 30 lengths in about half an hour.
Really feel the need to shift this bit of podge over my belt line!
Today, I realised it was a week between sessions, which is pap.
Also, after being out in the sun yesterday, and seeing the body beautifuls, I have feel double pap, for not making the effort
Anyway, today is a new day, and I have been to the hot and sweaty gym, and sweated some more!
It was an inbetweeny session, if I am honest, neither good nor bad, just ok. I was impressed with my form on the squats, I was going pretty deep, and my thighs were near parallel with the floor (unlike the woman who had been using the squat rack before me, who barely bent her knees). I managed an extra 3 reps compared to last time I did this, using the same weight.
DB overhead pullover and DB overhead press were both quite good today - I managed to up the total rep count on each exercise by 3 reps, and 4 reps respectively, whilst using a 27.5kg DB (instead of 30kgs) on the pullovers, and keeping the DBOH press at 15kgs.
It was the cable lateral raise that did it for me today, I don't know what it was, but my shoulders just weren't in the mood for this, and I really, really struggled to get 8 reps out :(
Actually, when I look back over the workout, it isn't as bad as I thought when I look at the facts - no real weight decreases, and improvement in reps (apart from cable lat raise)
In terms of an update, I probs deserve a bit of a roasting, tho please give me a bit of leeway for my self recognition of the fact that I know I have been rubbish the past three weeks!
I will be knuckling down from now on, as I don't want to be the bloater on the beach in Cornwall at the end of next month!!
